Rangers have been exploring the possibility of signing Vaclav Cerny, as Derek McInnes is keen on bolstering his attacking options.
Besiktas are preparing for life without Cerny, with them eyeing up replacements in case they lose the 28-year-old.
Rangers are making a serious transfer attempt for the Czech Republic international, but our sources have told us that things are not as advanced as some reports claim.
What do you make of Vaclav Cerny returning to Ibrox?
Cerny's return makes Rangers favourites to win the title! 💪
Rangers will need to pay around £45k/week in wages to Vaclav Cerny
The Daily Record’s Keith Jackson has claimed that Vaclav Cerny is on £45k/week wages at Besiktas, and would demand that should he return to Ibrox.
This could, in turn, price out the Light Blues as he would become their highest-paid player.
Cerny was keen on extending his stay at Ibrox, but the club did not make an attempt to sign him permanently.
What is your reaction to the new third kit?
It's fair to say a lot of Rangers fans have hated it…
However, he has once again popped up on their radar, and it is understood that he would be open to returning to Rangers.
The Gers have even made enquiries behind the scenes to gauge the finances involved if they are to potentially shell out the money for the right winger.
Besiktas are in no rush to lose him, but if the player wants to leave, they will not budge from their demands.
Due to this, the move to sign Cerny remains unlikely, as things stand, unless things change in the coming weeks.

How Rangers can afford to sign Cerny
The Gers have big money, potentially a club-record fee coming in if Nicolas Raskin is sold.
His replacement will not cost as much, and there will be ample money left to sign a replacement, and a move for Cerny can also be financed.
While his wages are on the higher side, he has proven that he is worth the outlay, and he loved his season-long loan at Ibrox.
The club could promise him performance-based incentives, say if he can register 25 G+A next season or if Rangers qualify for the Champions League.
He is open to moving and Derek McInnes does need this type of game-changer at the club, so a move could very much be on the cards if the manager desperately wants the 28-year-old at Ibrox.
