Rangers have been handed a major boost in their quest to bring Vaclav Cerny back to Ibrox in this summer’s transfer window.
The Czech Republic international is currently plying his trade at Besiktas, but could be on his way out in the coming weeks.
Rangers are keen on signing Cerny, but no official bid has been made for him yet, despite previous reports.
What do you make of Vaclav Cerny returning to Ibrox?
Cerny's return makes Rangers favourites to win the title! 💪
Besiktas prepare for life without Vaclav Cerny with Abdul Fatawu offer
According to Pete O’Rourke, the Turkish club have made an offer to sign Leicester City star Abdul Fatawu.
The Ghana winger plays in the same position as Cerny does, which clearly means that they are preparing for life without him.
This undoubtedly comes as a major boost for Rangers, as clubs tend to finalise replacements before parting ways with their first-team players.
What is your reaction to the new third kit?
It's fair to say a lot of Rangers fans have hated it…
Besiktas have been plotting for replacements for the 28-year-old in recent weeks, as they even considered a move for Andreas Skov Olsen.
However, things appear to have cooled on that front, with all the focus moving to Fatawu.
There is a good chance that the Ibrox outfit will already be in talks with Cerny and his representatives and could make an official move once Besiktas seal the transfer.

Does Cerny’s arrival make Rangers favourites for the title?
Rangers’ failure to win the league last season was down to multiple factors, but one of those was the inability of the wide players to contribute to goals and assists consistently.
Mikey Moore arguably was the only consistent winger, with Skov Olsen, Djeidi Gassama and Oliver Antman all underwhelming.
By signing Cerny, the Gers will have another attacker who is capable of getting into the goal-scoring positions and fancying a shot at goal more often than not.
He already has experience of playing in Scotland and would become one of the club’s most important players.
His arrival undoubtedly makes the Light Blues favourites for the title, and it remains to be seen if they succeed in bringing him back.
