For Connor Goldson, the Ibrox vice-captain has entered the final year of his deal and has made intimations previously that he wants to stay in Glasgow.

It’s fair to say, it looks like the situation is hanging over the defender as his performances begin to stutter.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has made no bones about his desire to sign midfielder Glen Kamara down on an extended deal.

Kamara has two years left on his contract but the Finnish international has emerged as one of the major assets in this Ibrox team.

Whilst Kamara didn’t play against Malmo due to suspension, Rangers fans have urged both to settle this situation one way or another so the club can move on from the distraction:

Rangers crashed out of the Champions League following an abject 4-2 aggregate loss to Swedish Champions Malmo which may well have ramifications for either of these deals.

The fact the Gers drop out of the competition has a wide-ranging knock-on effect the full damage of which may not yet have been felt.
