Nasser Djiga may never start another game for Rangers after what Kris Boyd saw him doing

Kris Boyd was far from pleased after what Nasser Djiga did following Rangers’ 2-1 defeat against Hearts at Tynecastle.

Rangers’ loss to Hearts meant that they are now seven points adrift of top spot on the SPFL table, and are out of the title race.

They take on Celtic next and will hope to spoil their title chase, given that the Hoops are three points behind Hearts.

Would Rangers have won the league if they signed Lawrence Shankland instead of Youssef Chermiti?

Kris Boyd not happy with Nasser Djiga laughing around with Hearts players

Boyd spotted Djiga talking to and joking around with the Hearts players following the 2-1 loss on Monday.

While the former Gers striker understands that the centre-back has friends in the Hearts team, he should not be showcasing publicly that the result did not impact him.

A win for the Ibrox outfit would have put them a point off first place, and a loss has knocked them out of the title race.

Djiga would have been made aware of the stakes, so for him to be smiling after the game reeks of unprofessionalism.

Boyd expects the fans also not to be too impressed with the Wolves loanee, given the context of the Scottish Premiership title race.

He said: “As soon as the going got tough, the Rangers players disappeared.

“The fans will be hurting this morning, there’s no doubt about it, but you wonder if the players feel that way as well.

“I think that comes from within. Sitting there stretching-off the Hearts team when they’ve got cramp.

“I mean, what are you doing? Seriously. What are you doing?

“If you lose a game of football, it’s bad enough.

“It was Nasser Djiga – I get it, you might have friends on the Hearts team but you’re standing there after the game talking when you know that’s the title over and you’re best mates with the opposition players.

“I’m sorry, as I said fans will be the ones hurting and then they’ll be angry and rightly so because they’ve seen their team blow up again.

“But I would question the players as well, does it really mean that much to them?

“I’m not so sure. I’m not so sure.”

Will Rangers re-sign Nasser Djiga for next season?

Why Djiga may never start another game for Rangers

Rohl would have noticed how his players reacted following a season-ending defeat against Hearts.

The German would have appreciated those who had their heads down and walked down the tunnel and were fuming inside the room instead of those who seemed unaffected by the result.

Djiga clearly belonged to the latter, and his actions following the full-time whistle will not have gone down well with the Rangers manager.

Ahead of the Celtic game, he would want to make changes to his starting eleven, and it will not be surprising if he decides not to include the Burkina Faso international.

Djiga is unlikely to return to Rangers next season, so it makes sense for Rohl to go with players who will be at the club beyond the summer.

John Souttar was injured against Hearts, but could be fit enough to play Celtic, making him an automatic replacement for Djiga.
