Vaclav Cerny is both the hero and the villain of the piece as the fall-out over Rangers’ victory at Celtic Park rolls into a third day.
Cerny is under Police Scotland investigation after appearing to – check’s notes – splash some Celtic fans with water after Hamza Igamane’s late Parkhead winner.
Rangers fans have naturally lauded Cerny in the aftermath as a cult hero, whilst the Czech international is public enemy number one in the east end of Glasgow.
There is also talk of Cerny receiving a ban for his antics at Celtic Park.
Celtic are furious, Rangers are laughing, but one outspoken pundit reckons that the situation with Vaclav Cerny has now gotten so out of hand the Old Firm fixture needs a reality check.

Tam McManus defends Vaclav Cerny
Tam McManus is never usually one to side with Rangers but the former Hibs striker has thrown his support behind Vaclav Cerny.
Taking to social media platform X, McManus has railed against the snitching that has led to Cerny being questioned by police for a nothing incident.
But the former Hibees hitman has also suggested that Cerny is warned over his future conduct and told that when it comes to the Old Firm, these sorts of things don’t fly.
McManus has offered something of a diplomatic response, arguing that whilst Cerny should not have ‘skooshed’ Celtic fans with water, it’s not exactly deserving of a police investigation.
“Should Cerny have skooshed water over the Celtic fans? 100% no,” said McManus.
”Should the police be getting involved? 100% no.
”I would like to think someone at Rangers would have a quiet word with him to him that you can’t do that here especially in this fixture. That should be the end of it.”
Vaclav Cerny responds to Celtic ‘watergate’ fall-out
Celtic fans are never ones to get upset in the wake of an Old Firm defeat and we’re sure that they’re not just deflecting from back-to-back losses against Rangers.
Normally, the Parkhead side will look to borderline refereeing calls to justify the defeat but Steven McLean barely had a big decision to make at Celtic Park.
Instead, Celtic fans are focusing on Vaclav Cerny to try and passive aggressively deal with the pain of the defeat but the Rangers winger isn’t biting.
Speaking whilst out on international duty with the Czech Republic, Cerny branded the entire situation ‘absurd’.
Cerny said: “I don’t want to say too much, I can’t. I find it a bit absurd.
“The stands are so close, to have open water… I didn’t even know what was happening at that moment. I just ran. It’s a derby.”
