Rangers fans all love what Parkhead hero did that sees Celtic fans in ‘that’s assault’ meltdown

An Old Firm win is always greatly appreciated at any time of the season, even if the race for the Scottish Premiership title is all but over for Rangers.

Bragging rights might be short lived, however, there will be a significantly more cheerful outlook amongst the 50,000 who attend Ibrox on the other side of the international break.

Barry Ferguson has brought a change of character since his appointment as interim Rangers manager but was given too much to do to close the gap at the top of the table.

One player who epitomises the change is Vaclav Cerny who might be getting a phone call from the SFA after his over exuberance when Hamza Igamane scored Rangers’ third, and winning goal.

A splash of water never did anyone any harm, in an incident that has seen Rangers fans in stitches, and Celtic fans phoning for the police.

Rangers in stitches over what Vaclav Cerny did against Celtic

Ferguson reacted to the Cerny incident after the game, which was hard considering he didn’t actually see it with Rangers fans taking to social media in disbelief at what they had just seen.

“How funny are the videos of them going nuts over a wee splash of water and Cerny doing the deed ..love his wee look back and wry smile,” said one fan wallowing in the suffering of his bitter rivals.

“For content like this, Sky should be paying £100m more for Scottish football,” suggested another who has maybe just given Neil Doncaster a negotiation idea.

While, for these two, it’s safe to say that Cerny is now a cult hero, “I genuinely don’t know what’s better with the clip of Igamane’s goal. The actual goal itself or Cerny.” Whilst this one thinks that the £8m fee quoted for Cerny would be money well spent, “Cerny is a player but I’d 100% sign him just for the water spraying at the winner!”

“Honestly man canny get over Cerny, love it,” laughed another and, if you’re old enough to remember kids’ TV favourite Sooty…

Celtic fans demand action as Cerny sees the funny side

Celtic fans didn’t quite take the prank as well as those of a Light Blue persuasion with a variety of complaints, and threats…

“Why wasn’t Cerny sent off for trying to incite a riot? I thought that was the rules??” Demanded one who didn’t see the funny side.

“Just count the trophies at the end of the season. If I was Cerny I’d sleep with one eye open for a while,” Barry Ferguson probably wouldn’t be happy with this advice though, seeing as his star winger would probably be exhausted not getting a decent rest.

“Cerny will get charged for that,” fumed one, whilst another, in response to a well-known lawyer claimed, “Pure thuggery by Cerny spraying fans with water, you being a lawyer, should know that’s assault!!

In one of the more puzzling statements, “Cerny knows what to expect at every league ground from now on,” suggests that Cerny will be getting squirted with water bottles every where he goes now, well at least that is what it looks like is being suggested.

For a fan base on its way to another treble, they don’t half take things to heart.
