Rangers fans have been blown away by the news that Jamie Barjonas has joined Kelty Hearts on a one-year deal.
Barjonas made his Rangers first-team debut as a teenager under Pedro Caixinha during the 2016/17 season and went on to make nine appearances.

He had loan spells at Bury, Raith Rovers, Partick Thistle and Ayr United, but didn’t quite manage to shine consistently elsewhere.
The now 22-year-old made the bench for all of the Gers’ Europa League group stage matches this season as well as for two Premiership fixtures but never actually made it onto the pitch in a competitive game under Steven Gerrard.
With his contract running down, his departure this summer became somewhat inevitable and he bid an emotional farewell on Instagram late last month.
Plenty of supporters thought the natural next step for the talented midfielder would be a move to a Championship club or even another Premiership side.

Therefore, there was real shock on Wednesday morning when it was confirmed that he’d chosen to drop all the way down to SPFL League Two to join former Gers B team coach Kevin Thomson at newly-promoted Kelty.
Some Bears applauded the Fife club for their ambition while others questioned Barjonas’ thinking.
Here’s a selection of reactions from Twitter:
What a signing that is for Kelty. All the best Barjo 👏🏻

Tell you what that’s some signing here. That lad was only just a step away from playing for us, he could have walked on to most Scottish Premiership sides. Massive coup for Kelty! Best of luck wee man.

Will stroll it in that league and that level. Surprised he moved to Kelty but the Thompson relationship must have been the clincher.

That’s a great singing for Kelty. Reckon JB could easily play at a higher level so hopefully his career progresses with them through the divisions

What a signing that is for both. Jamie will develop into an even better player and expect him back in the premier in a couple of years
