But at the risk of streaming in behind Ange Postecoglou, for others its a disaster waiting to happen and BBC Sport claim Muscat is an “outsider” for the job.
As for Philippe Clement, the Belgian boss is certainly one of the coaches with the highest pedigree who have been linked to the Rangers job.

Reports in Belgium have suggested interest from Rangers is legitimate, with the ex-Club Brugge boss being fired from his role with Ligue 1 AS Monaco in the summer.
A winner in Belgium, Clement’s success with Genk and then Club Brugge has piqued the interest of Rangers fans with the club’s European exploits also in line with the Gers’ ambitions.
But with reported interest in Saudi Arabia, Rangers could face stiff competition to make Philippe Clement their next manager.
On top of that, AS Monaco are now top of Ligue 1 after replacing the coach in the summer and how it ended in France might have some at Rangers thinking twice.
