Rangers have agreed personal terms with Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl over a summer move to Ibrox.
Hjerto-Dahl rejected Celtic and Cardiff City, as the Light Blues are the only team he is keen on joining in the coming weeks.
Rangers representatives flew to Norway to convince the 20-year-old about the project that Derek McInnes is building, and that appears to have convinced him.
What are your expectations from Jens Hjerto-Dahl at Rangers?
Rangers appear to be closing in on his signing!
Tromso manager Jorgen Vik includes Jens Hjerto-Dahl in starting eleven on Saturday
Tromso boss Jorgen Vik has opted to name Hjerto-Dahl in his starting eleven as his side are taking on HamKam in the Eliteserien.
Unlike most European leagues that run from autumn to spring, the Eliteserien runs from March to November.
This is done in order to avoid the harsh Scandinavian winters.
Which formation should Derek McInnes use at Rangers?
Given the players he's got so far, there are a number of ways that the team can play…
At the time of writing, Tromso and Hjerto-Dahl are leading 1-0 and are currently sitting at the top of the league.
Vik stated that he expects the midfielder to stay for the UEFA Europa League qualifier next week, too, but things can change rapidly in the transfer window.
Rangers would not want their potential new signing to pick up an injury, so they may ask Tromso to leave him out of the side.

When can Rangers make an official announcement about Hjerto-Dahl?
As of now, the Gers have only reached an agreement with Hjerto-Dahl, but not with his club.
There is still some haggling left over the transfer fee, as their previous offer has fallen short of Tromso’s valuation.
Until they agree on terms with the Norwegian club, they cannot make any requests to omit the 20-year-old from the squad.
Tromso also will not sanction Hjerto-Dahl to jet out to Glasgow for his medical as they aim to qualify for the Europa League.
What is your reaction to the new third kit?
It's fair to say a lot of Rangers fans have hated it…
The ball is now firmly in Rangers’ court as they need to agree to Tromso’s terms or successfully negotiate down the fee.
Fans will be hoping that this is done soon, as they were already worried that Cardiff would sign the midfielder ahead of them.
It’s a positive sign that the Norwegian midfielder only wants to move to Ibrox, but would want to see some action being taken sooner rather than later.
