The Rangers recruitment team is set to fly out to Norway as they aim to get clarity on the deal involving Jens Hjerto-Dahl.
Rangers have a bid on the table for Hjerto-Dahl, as do Cardiff City, but both offers fall shy of Tromso’s valuation.
Cardiff have entered advanced negotiations for the 20-year-old, and while they hold the upper hand currently, the deal is far from being completed.
What are your expectations from Jens Hjerto-Dahl at Rangers?
Rangers appear to be closing in on his signing!
Rangers aim to win Jens Hjerto-Dahl race having flown to Norway
Norwegian media outlet Nordlys have claimed that the Gers representatives are going to fly to Norway in order to discuss the deal further.
They are aware of Cardiff’s interest and the fact that they are in advanced negotiations to sign the midfielder.
Rangers could get closer to signing the midfielder following their trip to Norway, but that has not yet been finalised.
Which formation should Derek McInnes use at Rangers?
Given the players he's got so far, there are a number of ways that the team can play…
Talks will be held over the next few days, and it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached.
Tromso want £8.5m for Hjerto-Dahl, and the Light Blues want to bring that figure down.
They could look to structure the deal in such a way that they do not have to pay too much up front and can pay it later when certain targets are reached.

Are Cardiff City in a position to outbid Rangers for Hjerto-Dahl?
Cardiff played in England’s third tier last season and secured promotion to the Championship by finishing second.
That means that their finances are significantly boosted, and they will be doing whatever they can to sign players to keep them in the division.
They do have the financial power to match and potentially outbid Gers in order to sign Hjerto-Dahl.
It may eventually come down to the player’s decision, and it remains to be seen if he fancies moving to a club in England’s second tier.
At Ibrox, he has the chance to compete for trophies and play in Europe, something he would much rather consider.
