Celtic’s star midfielder Tom Rogic has been ruled out of action for six weeks, handing Rangers a timely title boost.
Rogic is arguably our rival’s best player and his absence certainly weakens them.
The news comes in the same week where the Eastend club’s best centre back was also reportedly ruled out for the rest of the season. The Scottish Sun are suggesting Filip Benkovic won’t kick another ball this year. It’s a double boost for Rangers.

The duo are undeniably Celtic’s strongest players in their respective positions. But our rivals have plenty of issues all over the pitch.
They’re also without Kieran Tierney, who has a hip problem, and Leigh Griffiths, who remains out of action with off-field issues.
Whilst it is imperative Rangers focus on keeping their own house in order, news like this is a welcome boost as we look to close the gap with Celtic.
Whilst we have injury problems of our own, our first team hasn’t been quite so decimated. Connor Goldson remains a big miss, but the likes of long-term absentees Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy are edging closer to fitness.

We also have more strength in depth than at any time in recent memory.
Celtic now have four first team players out of action for a considerable period. Should the chance arise, we must be looking to capitalise.
But we need them to slip up first. And that’s certainly made easier by the absence of Tom Rogic and the rest of those mentioned at Parkhead
