Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has revealed Rangers are currently speaking to Liverpool about “a number of players” [originally The Scottish Sun].
The Gers boss was discussing the future of Ryan Kent when he said the club is looking at a variety of players at Anfield. That means alongside Kent, Rangers could take another couple of Liverpool stars to Glasgow.
It wouldn’t be the first time either. Rangers also took Ovie Ejaria to the club this season, before the player returned to Anfield after struggling to settle.
Here are three players Rangers could have on their radar for next season.
Ben Woodburn
Rangers were linked to the young Welsh forward in the January window [originally Scottish Sun] but opted not to move. The youngster spent the first half of the season with Sheffield United but returned to Anfield in January.
Still only 19, he is touted as one of Liverpool’s biggest talents. He’s also already had 10 caps for Wales, scoring twice. Could we see the Welsh wonderkid to Ibrox next season?
Marko Grujic
The combative Serbian midfielder cost Liverpool £5.1m from Red Star Belgrade in 2016. Currently on loan at Hertha Berlin, the powerful midfielder will be returning to Liverpool at the end of the season.
A real quality midfield option, Grujic has eight caps for Serbia. Another highly rated talent, Steven Gerrard would pull off a real coup with his signature.
Danny Ings
Perhaps the biggest name on the list, some fans will remember rumours about Danny Ings coming to the club a couple of years ago.
A Premier League quality striker, you get the impression any move would be largely dependent on what happens with Alfredo Morelos. Ings would cost a considerable amount on wages.
But with Borussia Dortmund [Sky Sports] and Eintracht Frankfurt [Daily Express] reportedly swirling around Morelos, would Ings be a suitable replacement?
