Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has revealed that Rangers are in discussions with Liverpool over “a number of players” at the Anfield club.
Much of the transfer speculation at Ibrox has centred around current Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent, who Gerrard confirmed Rangers were looking at.
And it was in addressing the conversation around the tricky winger that Gerrard revealed the ongoing conversation at Anfield.
“I’ve already spoken to Liverpool about a number of players but what was said will remain private,” said Gerrard, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“Liverpool hold the cards with Ryan and all their players but I told them who I’d be interested in if they were available.
“I’ve made it clear how much I want Ryan to come back but they didn’t need that meeting to know that, because I’ve said that before.”

That means Gerrard has handed a transfer dossier on to Liverpool. It’s now up to the likes of Jurgen Klopp and everyone at Liverpool to decide what happens next.
With regards Ryan Kent, Rangers have consistently expressed their interest in the player. Despite that, Rangers were reportedly set to be priced out a move with some publications even claiming Liverpool wanted £12m for the young Englishman [originally the Express].
But Kent has also said he’s loving life at Rangers [originally Scottish Sun], and Gerrard thinks any final decision may well rest on what Kent wants to do.
“With Ryan, it’ll boil down to what the player wants and whether Liverpool are happy to deliver that,” said Gerrard.
“All we can do is make sure we’re at the table and I can assure everyone that we’re at the table with an offer.”
