There’s been plenty of talk of outgoings at Rangers over the last few weeks, but there’s also been plenty of suggestion that no-one in our highly valued squad is going anywhere.
The likes of Borna Barisic, Glen Kamara and Alfredo Morelos have all been subjected to transfer reports and links to clubs around Europe.
Rangers remain adamant that no-one is going anywhere whilst the club is in the middle of a title charge.
But with Ross Wilson potentially valuing the squad north of £100m, should anyone come knocking they can expect to cough up for our best talents.
For us, there are five players at Ibrox currently pushing eight figures and plenty not far behind:
Borna Barisic
Croatia’s number one left-back and undeniably the most improved player at Ibrox this season.
AS Roma are reportedly sniffing around the best left full-back in the country [Sunday Post] but if they want him they’ll need to cough up (probably in June too).
If Barisic keeps this form up at Ibrox demanding anything less than £15m would be a slap in the face.
Glen Kamara
A graduate of Arsenal’s famously technical Academy, Kamara has bossed midfields across Europe and Scotland since signing for Rangers.
A pivotal player in Finland’s successful Euro 2020 qualifying campaign, he has proven at multiple levels to be a classy, technically astute, ball-retaining midfield player with massive potential.
Amid reported interest from the Premier League [Daily Mail], if Rangers started the bidding at £10m don’t expect it to stop there.
The Ibrox captain has been linked with a move to former club Newcastle United [Scottish Sun] in the window but don’t expect him to be going anywhere before getting his hands on 55.
Rangers’ resident comeback king has proven his resilience this season to bounce back from a blip in form to achieve some of his most reliable and consistent performances yet.
Producing incredible numbers ever since coming to Ibrox, Glasgow is Tav’s home but if anyone dares enter the market for our captain, they better be thinking north of £10m.
Alfredo Morelos
For so long, there’s been a narrative that sooner rather than later we’re going to lose our 28-goal Colombian talisman.
Maybe, but it won’t be for any less than Rangers deserve. El Bufalo is the main man at Ibrox and when you see how much striking dross goes for down south there’s a meaty price tag on his head.
Even £15m would be too little in the eyes of most Rangers fans. The bare minimum is closer to £20m. Even then, how much is too little for the powerful 23-year-old?
Joe Aribo
Prior to joining Rangers, you’d be hard-pressed to find many Rangers fans who’d heard of the lanky Nigerian midfielder.
Since joining, however, you’ll be hard-pressed to find many who aren’t convinced this boy is going to be a top, top player.
Now a fully-fledged Nigerian international and in recent months emerging as a key man for Rangers on that right-hand side, anything less than eight figures would be senseless.
There’s a reason why the likes of Man City and Arsenal were credited with an interest in Joe last season.
We’ve also got to give special mention to Connor Goldson, Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent – we’re not in bad nick at all, are we?
