LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes uploads a picture of himself on a flight as those links to Rangers continue to intensify in the press.
The Ecuadorean international, 24, uploaded the picture of himself on a flight to an unknown destination via Instagram as Jose Cifuentes and LAFC break for the month-long Leagues Cup.
The midfielder would then upload another picture of himself next to the water, with the song Hawai by Maluma and caption “quien se apunta para ir, estamos en camino?”
In English this translates to “who down to go, we on our way?”
Jose Cifuentes had uploaded the images of himself on the flight after a Los Angeles meet n’ greet with supporters, which came after the final MLS game before the month-long break.
Cifuentes played in LAFC’s final game before the split, the Ecuadorean playing the full match as the Californians drew 1-1 with Minnesota.
Jose Cifuentes boards flight amid Rangers links
Given the gap in the club’s season, there was some hope going into the break that Rangers would secure the transfer of Jose Cifuentes over the course of the next few weeks.
This has been backed up by reports in Scotland which have claimed that Rangers are set to ramp up the interest in the midfielder, who has been valued around £2m by LAFC, in the coming days.
Whilst the flight gives little away regarding Jose Cifuentes’ final destination this summer, Rangers fans will continue to have one eye on the Ecuadorean’s movements over the next few days.

Especially considering that LAFC manager Steve Cherundolo has claimed that the MLS break presents the club with an opportunity to reshape their squad.
“The club is always working,” said Cherundolo.
“We are always moving forward. We are going to try and improve our team. We are going to try and add some new players if we all come to the conclusion that those players will make us better, but not at all costs.”
