Rangers were initially said to have launched a £9m bid for Senegal and Amiens striker Moussa Konate [Premium Courier] as a potential replacement for Alfredo Morelos, before Steven Gerrard is said to have rubbished reports we’ve made an offer.
Common sense tells us that the club would not splash out that much on a striker unless the Colombian was leaving the club.
The move would back up comments made by Steven Gerrard about “expecting” a bid for a star player. And it’s got some bluenoses pretty worried.

Of course, there are other supporters who’re more mystified by the price tag attached to the mystery “bid”.
But going into this final week there’s certainly a nervousness about how the transfer window is going to pan out.
There’s the whole Ryan Kent thing – which won’t go away [Daily Record] – as well as talk over the futures of Alfredo Morelos and captain James Tavernier.
You get the feeling Steven Gerrard is simply preparing us for the worst with these comments about the final week of business, as a cushion for IF and not WHEN they happen.
“We’ll find out in the coming days. I predict that a bid will land for one of my players,” explained Gerrard [quotes by Football Scotland].
“I think you’ll see some movement out. There’s some offers swirling about for certain individuals, so there will be news broke over the seven or so days that are left.

“But I can’t see there being any change the other way unless something comes out of the blue and takes away one of our players we might have to replace.
“That could happen. There’s nothing really solid yet that we have to make a decision on, but it’s getting warmer as the days go by, so I predict there could be some outgoings.”
With two massive games ahead of us in the next week on top of all this, it could be a defining one in the Light Blues’ season.
