Rangers are on the hunt for a pair of centre backs with the likes of Czech centre half Tomas Kalas one of the names linked with the club [originally Scottish Sun].
The towering Chelsea stopper is a mainstay in his adopted Bristol City side and an established international. Talk of a £5m battle with Celtic had fans interested.
But after a horror showing from the big chap on international duty, should the club give any move a wide berth?

The Czech Republic were ruthlessly dismantled by a creative, youthful England side in the week. Gareth Southgate’s team put five goals past the Czechs without reply, with Tomas Kalas suffering a particularly horrendous time.
The on-loan Robins defender didn’t only ship five goals, but he also suffered the ignominy of scoring an own goal. It wasn’t just any own goal either, it looked completely avoidable.
It pretty much summed up the Czech Republic’s and Kalas’ day. He was also badly shown up against the superior talents and skills of the England team. Thankfully, he won’t need to face that every day in the Championship.

From first glance talk of a £5m appear to be incredibly inflated, as all deals in England generally are. It’s a lot of money to splash out on a player who struggles with quick, technical outfits.
But he’d probably relish the physicality of the Scottish Premiership. Still only 25, he still has plenty of time to grow and develop as a player. He’ll also certainly have better days in professional football.
Do you think the towering centre half is worth a punt?
