Several Serie A clubs are now tailing Rangers playmaker Ianis Hagi who has been tipped for a return to Italy after an excruciating 18 months with the Ibrox side.
Italian journalist Rudy Galetti – who works for TV Dello Sport in the European country – claims that there are a number of clubs in the top five league who’re looking at a deal for Ianis Hagi.
This comes amid reports earlier in the summer that Italian Serie A club Lecce and their new manager had made Ianis Hagi, who has been rated at €4m (£3.5m), their top target in this transfer window.
Ianis Hagi also had a previous stint in Italy and Serie A with Fiorentina, whom he joined as a teenager in 2016.
The journalist claims there could be an update from Italy in the “next few days” as Rangers continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new season.
“There is new info on the Rangers side,” Galetti told Give Me Sport.
“Some clubs in Serie A are following Ianis Hagi.
“After his experience at Fiorentina, there is an opportunity to return to Italy. At the moment, it’s just preliminary contacts, but let’s keep an eye on the illustrious son that, in the next few days, could be at the heart of some market events.”

The exit link surrounding Ianis Hagi come after a devastating 18 months for the Romanian, who suffered a heartbreaking cruciate ligament injury in the January of 2022.
Going on to miss the Europa League Final against the backdrop of Rangers’ domestic downturn, the club has sorely missed the influence of the ex-Genk star who was emerging as a key player before the injury.
Returning for Rangers towards the end of the season, the club clearly back Ianis Hagi given the fact they’ve handed him a new contract but these links to Serie A come at an interesting juncture in his career.
Pictured being put through his paces at the club’s Germany training camp, Ianis Hagi needs to play in order to continue his development and if there is a greater opportunity for this in Italy, perhaps his head could be turned.
Incredibly, there were also links between Ianis Hagi and Aberdeen earlier in the window which have been rubbished in the Scottish press.
