A leading Dutch publication has claimed Japanese striker Ayase Ueda is the man set to replace Rangers-bound Danilo at Feyenoord; not Calvin Stengs.
Voetbal International have provided an update on the Eredivisie champions’ summer transfer business with the report coming amid much speculation around Rangers and Danilo.

And whilst the report confirms that Feyenoord are closing in on a €6m (£5m) move for OGC Nice winger Calvin Stengs, the Dutch club are NOT eyeing the player as a Danilo replacement.
In fact, the suggestion is that Calvin Stengs is just one target of the De Kuip club, with Cercle Brugge’s Ayase Ueda the man set to replace Rangers-bound Danilo in Rotterdam.
Calvin Stengs not the Danilo “successor” at Feyenoord
This is in direct contradiction to claims in the Daily Record, which suggested that Calvin Stengs was to be a “successor” to Danilo at Feyenoord.
That report claims that Rangers are set to pay £6m for Feyenoord striker Danilo – in a final “take-it-or-leave-it offer” – with that money going straight to financing a move for Calvin Stengs.
Directly using the word “successor” – despite the fact Calvin Stengs plays in a different position – the report makes mention of interest from Belgian Pro League champions Royal Antwerp.
Ayase Ueda is one of two more suitable transfer replacements being linked to Feyenoord in the wake of Rangers’ move for Danilo, with Sydney van Hooijdonk the other natural number 9 being mentioned.

But with Rangers now set to complete a deal for Danilo, the switch for Stengs does not appear to be in direct replacement response and the Feyenoord hunt for a forward goes on.
The Eredivisie outfit appear to be leading the hunt for Ayase Ueda who alongside Calvin Stengs, will bring something completely fresh to the Feyenoord frontline.
As for Rangers and Danilo, the striker’s social media accounts certainly appear to hint that change is in the offing.
