Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack came into the Scotland side for the country’s Euro doubleheader against Cyprus and Kazakhstan and did himself no harm as he tries to retain the shirt going forward.

The Ibrox number 8 has been on superb form for Rangers this season and it’s encouraging to see the midfielder take that forward with Scotland.

Naturally, the Rangers fans who’ve been singing his praises all season took to Twitter to congratulate the midfielder on an impressive 180 minutes.

Jack’s mature, composed and intelligent midfield play has formed one of the foundations of Rangers’ early-season success.

Comfortable on the ball and under pressure, Jack is both a creative and calming asset for any side he plays in.

His progress this season is a testament to the influence of Steven Gerrard and his team but Jack himself deserves credit for the level which his game has reached this season.

Jack also caught the eye of Scotland fans who’re beginning to hope that Steve Clarke can guide the side to the Euros come the Nations League playoff in March.

It’s great to see Jack leaving an impression on the national side, especially when you consider how much it clearly means to the former Aberdeen captain.

Prior to the internationals, Jack explained that any call to join the national side is a “no-brainer” [Scotland NT].

Perhaps if he can establish himself in the side it can help bring some of those Rangers fans who remain upset with the SFA back to the national fold.
