Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has been called up to the Scotland squad for the national side’s upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers with Cyprus and Kazakhstan.
Steve Clarke’s side have no chance of making it to the tournament through the groups and will have to rely on qualification through the Nations League playoff rounds.
The call-up comes after a sparkling start to the season which has seen Jack become central to Rangers and earn a new contract at Ibrox [Rangers].
Jack also removed himself from the last Scotland squad with an injury problem.
The former Aberdeen captain was also sent home from the previous squad before that after training with the national side aggravated an underlying issue following the Old Firm defeat in September.
This angered Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, with Clarke eventually taking responsibility for the issue.
It’s fair to say that Rangers, the SFA and the Scotland national team have not always seen eye-to-eye, with some Rangers fans having a laugh calling for Ryan Jack to feign injury and pull out of the squad.

It wasn’t all just jokes about announcing mystery injuries, fans are generally split over whether Jack should be joining up with Scotland.
Some fans want him to pull out, others have congratulated him, and some are just praying he doesn’t pick up an injury.
Could you imagine the hysteria if he did?
