Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull was one of ten players rumoured to be interesting Rangers by club insider Four Lads Had a Dream, and he’s shown exactly why this weekend.
Not only did the youngster score against Hamilton, but he also hit the back of the proverbial net off the pitch. The young Scotland midfielder might only be 19 years old, but he raked in five Motherwell Player of the Year Awards.
The free-scoring midfielder picked up the Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, Top goalscorer, and Goal of the season gongs at Fir Park.
It’s the cherry on top of what’s been a hugely impressive year for the midfielder. Alongside Jake Hastie, Turnbull has inspired a creative, youthful Motherwell side with bags of energy and creative freedom.
His ten goals and six assists are a testament to the player’s influence. For someone so young to consistently perform at that level is incredibly impressive and it would be very surprising if Rangers aren’t monitoring Turnbull’s progress.
It would also be very surprising if it was only Rangers who are interested too. The youngster is bound to attract interest from across the UK this summer.
These awards show just how valued he is by Motherwell. But for a relatively knockdown price Rangers could secure one of the country’s biggest talents.
