The last two weeks of the transfer window have had plenty of talk about who’ll be coming to Ibrox. But surrounding Ross McCrorie and Jordan Rossiter, there’s also been plenty of talk about leaving the club.
At least in the short term.
The Scottish Sun reported that McCrorie was the subject of an enquiry by Dundee. This was as a short-term makeweight in a deal which would see pre-contract signing Glen Kamara come to Ibrox early. This is after McCrorie was linked to Swansea earlier in the window.

In the pre-match press conference for tomorrow night’s match with Cowdenbeath, Steven Gerrard rebuffed any interest for the midfielder. Defiantly, Gerrard announced McCrorie was going nowhere.
The Rangers Manager also said that the current Scotland U21 captain is potentially a future captain of the club.

Rossiter could head out on loan this window

The Scottish Sun then reported that Jordan Rossiter was the subject of loan interest from Dundee United. Gerrard admitted that the midfielder might be better served getting a short term deal somewhere to get minutes under his belt.

Rossiter has struggled for fitness at Ibrox but his signature was considered a major coup back in 2016. Now he is fit, he needs minutes to prove what he can do and to develop.
Gerrard said that Rossiter remains a part of his long-term plans, but he is likely to leave on loan in the window. Could he be the makeweight in the Kamara deal? The midfielder looks likely to join Rangers by the window’s end.
But whilst both have a future at the club, Gerrard’s comments give an eye-opening insight into hi plans at Rangers.
We’ll see them both in Royal Blue again, but Ross McCrorie has undoubtedly overleaped Jordan Rossiter in the Ibrox pecking order.
