Rangers may just have signed a £6m player for £300k in Joe Aribo, according to former Ibrox star Alex Rae.
The former Rangers midfielder was speaking to talkSPORT as Rangers edged closer to a deal for the Charlton midfielder.
The talented midfielder is set to join up with the club in Portugal directly, whilst Charlton are spewing that they’ll miss out on a development fee [Daily Record].

But that’s not something Rae thinks Rangers will be concerning themselves with. Indeed, he believes the Ibrox club have just grabbed themselves a bargain.
“For me, it’s a no-brainer,” said Rae [talkSPORT, via Football Scotland].
“We see it time after time, where English clubs cherry-pick the best out of Scotland,
“This kid’s obviously done very well for Charlton last year, I think he’s got 10 goals. So it was a good return for someone so young.
“Rangers and Celtic have obviously identified that he’s good value. I think it’s a £300,000 compensation package because it’s a cross-border (transfer).
“All of a sudden you have a talent on your hands. If Aribo comes to Rangers, does well, within a couple of years he could be worth four, five, six million.”
It’s an exciting prospect for Rangers and one Steven Gerrard himself described as something of a coup for the club [Daily Record].

Rangers reportedly beat off competition from 17 clubs for Aribo’s signature [Scottish Sun], including rivals Celtic and Premier League interest.

The fact he’s already being valued at up to £6m shows just how big a talent Rangers have secured in the 22-year-old.
Now we just need to hope he can live up to the hype when the season kicks off.
