Rangers have been tipped to make an effort to hire Derek McInnes as their new manager amid question marks over Danny Rohl.
Rohl has maintained that he expects to be in charge of the Light Blues next season, but there remains uncertainty over his future as he continues to be linked with clubs in Germany.
The former Sheffield Wednesday manager’s reputation among the Rangers faithful has also taken a hit after suffering four defeats in the team’s five post-split fixtures.
Therefore, there is talk about the Glaswegian outfit finally bringing in McInnes to lead the team forward.

Keith Jackson makes McInnes to Rangers claim
Keith Jackson has admitted that he would not be surprised if the Govan club make an effort to sign McInnes from Hearts ahead of next season.
The veteran journalist expressed concerns over Rohl’s future at Ibrox, insisting that a move to Germany would be an ‘elegant exit strategy’ for all parties.
Jackson believes Rangers would make a move to bring McInnes back to the club if the German tactician departs, although that is likely to be met with resistance from Hearts.
He also pointed out that a move to the Light Blues would not be a no-brainer for the 54-year-old, as many expect.

In his view, the prospect of leading Hearts to Premiership glory after Saturday’s setback and managing in the UEFA Champions League might tempt McInnes to stay put.
Speaking on Daily Record’s Hotline Live, he said: “Would it surprise anybody if Rangers knocked on the door to try and get hold of Derek McInnes now? I’m not sure I’d be surprised.
“I’m not sure about Danny Rohl’s long-term position here, and I’m not sure if there is genuine interest from Germany. I think that’s an elegant exit strategy for everybody concerned. So, would you rule out Rangers asking the question about Derek McInnes?
“Whether that is to happen, I think Hearts would have to resist it and resist it really strongly, and Derek McInnes would then also have to think about the lure of potentially taking Hearts a stage further next season in the league, but also Champions League football. So, it wouldn’t be a no-brainer.”

Does Rohl deserve full season at Ibrox?
While it remains to be seen if Rangers ramp up interest in McInnes, it may be worth considering giving Rohl a full season.
There is no denying that the 37-year-old has left much to be desired in the last few weeks, which have seen the Gers collapse in the title race.
However, he still deserves credit for pushing the club back into the title race after taking over from Russell Martin in October.
Bayer Leverkusen are among the clubs interested in luring Rohl back to Germany, and it is a testament to his tactical acumen.
His man-management certainly requires improving, but Rangers may already have a manager capable of leading them back to Premiership glory.
The ownership knows that, and that is why Andrew Cavenagh has continued to back Rohl even amidst the recent collapse.
