Connor Goldson has been impressed with Fabio Silva’s impact since joining Rangers in the January transfer window with the Wolves loanee catching the eye with his attitude and his ‘infectious’ pressing.
It is not only Fabio Silva’s nose for goal which encouraged Rangers to take a punt on a man who scored 16 goals on loan at Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven last season.
Any striker in Philippe Clement’s team must be as tenacious and hard-working off the ball as he is on it, and the Portugal under-21 international certainly appears to tick more boxes than most with Ibrox team-mate Goldson impressed by his immediate impact on the training pitch.

Rangers sign Wolves striker Fabio Silva on loan
“It was good to get him early (in the window). I have only trained with him for two days and he looks good, looks like he is trying hard to settle, and seems like a really nice person,” Goldson tells Rangers Review.
“He’s talking to all the boys and is not isolated. That’s important when people are only coming for six months.
“He seems like he works his socks off in training. I can’t say too much because we haven’t done certain exercises or played 11v11 scoring goals, but the way he works in training is infectious. His pressing is infectious. I think you get that up the high end of the pitch and the rest of the team follows.
“So, hopefully, I will see more of him this week, he hits the ground running and scores goals for us.”
A big impact already
Silva, who set Wolves back a club-record fee of £35 million when joining from FC Porto as a teenager, moves north of the border with a bit of a point to prove. He did not start a Premier League game under Gary O’Neil, after all, since the first week of September.
Silva made his Rangers debut off the bench in the 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock, the club’s final outing before Scotland’s winter break.
The Premiership challengers are now expected to bring in a new-left-back. Another forward is not out of the question, either, with Clement’s former Club Brugge ace Emmanuel Dennis linked.
