Rangers star Ianis Hagi is facing up the latest marketing campaign from crisp giant Lay’s in his home country of Romania.
The 23-year-old midfielder is currently on the sidelines recovering from a cruciate ligament injury but took to Instagram as the campaign launched.
The campaign involves Ianis Hagi on a video chat with a group of friends before they join him to indulge in some Lay’s and watch a football match.
Translated into English, the message on Ianis’ Instagram account reads:
“The boys surprised me as they know best. 🙂 Invite your gang to the match, open a bag of Lay’s and enjoy the hottest goals together!”
It’s not the first time Rangers star Ianis Hagi has been involved in a marketing campaign for Lay’s either.

The attacking midfielder was in an advert alongside Paul Pogba and Lionel Messi in April 2021 in a profile elevating campaign.
The son of legendary Romanian footballer Gheorghe Hagi – who played for the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Galatasaray – Ianis one of the most well known faces in the country’s sport.
A Romanian international and top player in his own right, the attacking midfielder in many ways bears the hopes of his nation in footballing terms and with this exposure comes responsibility.
It’s not just Lay’s that Ianis Hagi has promoted in the past either, the Rangers star also being the face of Pepsi in Romania and having been involved in numerous adverts in the past.
It’s not just Lionel Messi or Paul Pogba either; Lay’s are the same brand of crisps as Walkers meaning that Ianis Hagi is very much the Rangers Gary Lineker.
Rangers star Ianis Hagi is currently on the sidelines after surgery on a knee problem with the Gers originally not expecting the midfielder back until next season.
However, the Gers star could make a return sooner than planned with his attendance in a showpiece match the target according to someone very close to him.
