Gheorghe Hagi, father of Rangers star Ianis, has admitted that the midfielder has “accepted” his fate as he works his way back from a cruciate ligament injury.
The talented Romanian playmaker, 23, was crocked in the 3-0 Scottish Cup victory over Stirling Albion and faces the rest of the season on the sidelines as he works his way back to fitness.

The injury came at a particularly inopportune moment for Ianis Hagi, with the midfielder cementing himself as a key player in the Rangers side.
Speaking after the Ibrox side’s 150th anniversary legends match against the World XI, ex-Barcelona and Real Madrid star Gheorghe, who played in the match, claims son Ianis is focused on coming back even stronger for Rangers.
“Ianis is fine, he looks good mentally, he is recovering every day,” said Gheorghe Hagi [Football Scotland].
“He has accepted everything and now he works hard every day to progress.
“I saw him in Glasgow looking very well, I hope he recovers as soon as possible.
“He had an injury, it was a serious one, but he is strong and he accepted it. He is working to get back to the way he was before, which was an ideal period for him.”
Ianis Hagi has “accepted” cruel Rangers injury fate
The comments seem to reinforce the statements of Ianis Hagi himself a few weeks ago, the Rangers midfielder claiming that he is fully focused on making a full recovery.
Speaking to RangersTV during coverage of the Rangers friendly, Ianis said:

“I’m good, I’m actually good. I think mentally the most important thing is I’m in a good place.
“I accepted my injury and working to be back now.”
Meanwhile, Rangers could also yet strike a deal with a 40-goal youth striker phenom amid high-profile links to the Premier League.
