Rangers could yet hang on to in-demand Ibrox talent Rory Wilson as the latest report reignites hopes the Gers could retain the 16-year-old striker.
Rangers had claimed via club media partner Heart & Hand that earlier reports the youngster had rejected a deal amid strong links to Aston Villa were incorrect.
Rory Wilson has impressed for the Scotland U17s over the international break and much of the coverage between Rangers games has concerned the future of the forward.
Alongside Aston Villa, the likes of Man United, Man City and Liverpool had all been mooted as potential destinations for the striker.
Now, the Scottish Daily Express are claiming that there is still a chance Rory Wilson stays at Rangers despite interest from a total of seven Premier League sides.
Including the aforementioned quartet, the Express are claiming that Leeds United, Newcastle United and Brighton are also interested, with the latter “firmly” in the hunt.
This is after former Rangers defender and club Hall of Famer Davie Weir – now the assistant technical director with the Seagulls – sent scouts to watch the forward.
Rangers “encouraged” by Rory Wilson situation
The Express report also rejects the notion that Rory has turned down the deal with sporting director Ross Wilson and manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst “encouraged” by the situation.
They then make mention of slightly different contract rules involving young professionals in Scotland and south of the border.
Up north youngsters can sign their first professional deals as 16-year-olds – which Rory Wilson is as of January this year – whilst down south they must wait until they are 17.

This would result in Rory Wilson signing on a scholarship with the deal converted on his 17th birthday.
It is being widely reported Rangers will receive around £300k in compensation if Wilson does opt to move to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, an official UEFA Twitter account set Celtic fans into meltdown as they sent a special celebratory message regarding Rangers.
