Rangers are facing a combined £11.1m payout between the Elite Group and the organisers of the Sydney Super Cup as yet another lawsuit is launched against the Ibrox club.
Supporters have been raising major questions regarding the competence of those running the affairs of the club as two separate lawsuits are raised in the matter of weeks which could result in substantial pay-outs.

Firstly, Rangers are being taken to court by the Elite Group – who supply retail for football clubs alongside Danish brand Hummel – following the collapse of a deal signed in 2018.
Rangers fans are at this point sick and tired of several years of retail drama with the club’s annual accounts showing that the club paid around £6m to settle a long-term legacy issue with Mike Ashley and Sports Direct.
But whilst the poorly weighted retail deal which kickstarted years of boardroom fighting over retail was signed before the current Board took control, the deal with Hummel and Elite was signed afterwards and the responsibility for any cock-up falls squarely at the feet of those in charge now.
As the group enters administration, they are looking to recoup £9.5m from Rangers with the lawyers of the company claiming the Gers breached contract and the courts ordering sales data to be released.

Rangers are also being sued to the tune of £1.6m from the organisers of the Sydney Super Cup, who are claiming Rangers breached contract by pulling out of the controversial tournament earlier in the year in yet another lawsuit.
There was a huge backlash to a proposed Old Firm friendly Down Under after Celtic appeared to break news of the tournament early in rather suspicious – and quite frankly disgusting – circumstances.
Rangers are also raising a counter suit regarding how the tournament was marketed, with the use of the Old Firm term front and centre.
Celtic refuse to use it after the events of 2012 and there has been stark disagreement regarding what was billed by the other side of the Old Firm – and media in Australia – as the Ange Postecoglou homecoming tour.
The Rangers Review say the Ibrox side are suing Sydney Super Cup organisers for “numerous breaches of contract related to communications for the competition, its marketing and issues over payments.”
The Gers are also hoping to recoup a loss of earnings, which they clearly believe was missed out on due to the hurried and incompetent nature of the marketing, rather than the backlash from fans.
This latest lawsuit just heaps the pressure on a Rangers Board who’re under increasing scrutiny and if a combined £11.1m which could’ve been spent on the first team is lost there will be hell to pay.
Meanwhile, Rangers and Celtic are battling it out for one player who once helped incite a riot at Parkhead.
