Rangers loanee Josh McPake is facing an uncertain future after David Hopkin resigned from his position as manager of Greenock Morton.
McPake joined the Ton in September and had established himself under Hopkin, making eight appearances to date across the Championship and the League Cup.

The Scotland youth international was harshly sent off on his league debut against Alloa Athletic but has impressed at times with his speed and trickery in wide areas.
McPake played the full 90 minutes of a 2-0 defeat against Hearts last weekend, but that would prove to be Hopkins’ final game in charge at Cappielow, with the manager surprisingly resigning on Thursday, 48 hours before a trip a Dunfermline Athletic.
Morton chairman Crawford Rae has since confirmed that Hopkin offered to resign in order to help the struggling club financially and that after a lengthy discussion, he had “reluctantly accepted” that offer [Not The Old Firm].

With the second-tier side now managerless, McPake’s future is uncertain.
The language used in the announcement of the 19-year-old’s arrival in September suggested that there was potential to extend his stay beyond the January window, but if Hopkin isn’t replaced, it seems more likely that loanee would return to Auchenhowie.
McPake is one of several Rangers youngsters out on loan in the SPFL, and one fellow Academy star recently won the Player of the Month award at his adopted club.
