Rangers linked Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard is closing in on a loan move to high-flying West Ham as the Hammers continue their push for a European place.
David Moyes side have shown incredible form this season and find themselves in 5th in the Premier League with Lingard joining the club to help with their push this season.
According to Sky Sports, Lingard rejected approached from Newcastle United and West Brom to move to the Olympic Stadium.
The report claims that a medical for the player is complete with Lingard potentially being available to play his parent club’s Premier League rivals Liverpool on Sunday.
Rangers and Celtic were linked with Lingard by TEAMtalk back in December with a host of Premier League clubs also said to be interested.
Rangers fans were dubious about the links in the first instance and may well remain so as the 28-year-old midfielder moves to West London.
Instead, the Gers have been looking at pre-contract options in this window with the Gers already announcing the signing of two players.
First, Rangers announced they had agreed a pre-contract deal with Aberdeen forward Scott Wright, with Steven Gerrard admitting it would be a “bonus” if the deal could be concluded this month.
Rangers have also announced the pre-contract signing of Bournemouth defender Jack Simpson, with Gerrard finally getting his man after trying to sign the player last season.
And according to a manager in the English Championship, the Gers transfer dealings in this month might not be done just yet with the club “close to agreeing” yet another pre-contract deal.
