Rangers are closing in on a second pre-contract move from Championship Bournemouth with midfielder Nmandi Ofoborh set to join the club.

That’s according to Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall, who also claims Rangers tried to sign Jack Simpson a year ago [Bhardwaj]..

Speaking after the Gers announced the pre-contract signing of Simpson, Tindall is clear that Ofoborh is set to follow.

“The conversations I’ve had with Nnamdi, I think they are down the line on that one,” said Tindall [Bournemouth Echo].

“I know it’s a club I think he would want to go and play for. It’s not as far down the line as what Jack is, but I think he is close to agreeing things to also go to Rangers.

“Credit to the football club and everyone that’s worked with Nnamdi, from where he was when he joined us to where he currently is now and to where he might end up, I think is great credit to everyone at this football club that’s helped him to achieve that.”

Nigeria U20 international midfielder Ofoborh, 21, came through the youth ranks at Bournemouth and has also had a spell with Wycombe Wanderers on loan.

The midfielder would play 21 times for the club as they earned promotion to the second tier of English football for the first time in their history.

Ofoborh will become the Gers’ third pre-contract signing of the January window with the club also announcing the signings of Scott Wright and Jack Simpson this month.

Guess which one of these players had their current club’s fans furious when they were watching their side stumble to a 0-0 draw last night?
