Rangers legend Graeme Souness was reportedly part of the Ibrox delegation which met with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard as the Gers hunt for their next manager.
According to to the Daily Record, former Rangers manager Graeme Souness is part of the team who are scouring the managerial market in the hunt to replace Michael Beale.
As part of this, the Rangers legend is said to have met with Frank Lampard and his representatives in London last week as the club assessed their options.
Whilst Chelsea legend and former Blues manager Frank Lampard is not believed to be in contention for the job, the situation is said to highlight the role Graeme Souness is playing in the club’s recruitment of their next manager.
It comes with Rangers bouncing back from the Europa League humiliation against Aris Limassol in midweek with a 3-0 victory over St Mirren.
Now in the middle of an international break, Rangers are expected to ramp up the club’s search for the next Ibrox manager over the next fortnight.

Graeme Souness in Rangers next manager meeting with Frank Lampard
It appears that Graeme Souness will be playing a key role in the club’s managerial search and even if Frank Lampard won’t be the next Rangers manager, whoever is will have to get past the Ibrox icon.
The man who kickstarted Rangers’ most recent era of success, Scotland and Liverpool legend Graeme Souness is a born winner who knows what it takes to win at Ibrox.
The Daily Record report also comes amid claims earlier in the season that Rangers were considering an ambassadorial role for the 70-year-old ex-player-manager.
Whilst those negotiations never materialised, it has reminded Rangers fans that the club is yet to replace outgoing Sporting Director Ross Wilson at the club.

Despite reports that Rangers interviewed four men for the job, none of them were seen as a “good fit” and Michael Beale appeared to be given free reign of a squad overhaul in the summer.
The club will have no such luck on the next manager front and as Rangers cast their net far and wide Graeme Souness is expected to be at the forefront.
