Phillips claimed that Lampard had spoken with Rangers three times already, the latest talks having been held last week.

Lampard almost guided Derby County to promotion from the Championship to the Premier League.
The former England international midfielder did relatively well in his first spell at Chelsea and then helped Everton avoid the dreaded drop to the Championship.
Then Everton Majority Shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, described Lampard as “impressive”.
However, Lampard eventually got sacked at Everton and then struggled to make an impact as the Chelsea caretaker-manager last season.

It has now been reported that Rangers have decided not to appoint Lampard.
According to talkSPORT, Rangers did hold talks with Lampard.
The former England international midfielder wanted to take over at Ibrox.
However, Rangers have decided against bringing Lampard to the club.
TalkSPORT has reported that Rangers have decided against Lampard because of “a mixed reaction from fans to the England legend’s potential appointment in the dugout”.
It seems that Rangers are listening to fans.
I think that the Gers have made the right decision in regard to Lampard.
Yes, Lampard is a high-profile name, but I do not think that he has done enough to suggest that he could take Rangers forward.
