Rangers insider account Four Lads Had a Dream has claimed that a report detailing the terms of a kit deal with Castore is ‘inaccurate’.
On Saturday afternoon, Gers Commercial Director, James Bisgrove, confirmed that a deal had been struck with a new kit supplier that represented ‘a significant step forward in Rangers’ recent history’ [Rangers.co.uk]
This update was then followed by speculation on social media that Castore were the brand in question.
On Monday morning, Sportcal ran an exclusive report providing details on the apparent contract between Rangers and the up and coming Liverpool-based company.
It was claimed that the Gers would receive £4 million per annum as part of a five-year deal worth £20 million, and that Castore had beaten off competition from Puma and Macron to secure the rights.

However, the Four Lads Had a Dream account tweeted on Monday afternoon to refute the details.
“For clarity, from what I understand, this story is inaccurate and doesn’t provide a fulsome picture of the detail involved,” read the tweet.
“The club will provide a further commercial update in due course, until then better to wait & get the details from them.”
Verdict
For now, it’s unclear what aspects of the Sportcal report are deemed inaccurate.
However, the choice of the word ‘fulsome’ suggests there are other elements to the deal beyond what has been set out in the report.
Many supporters will be hoping that the annual payments are higher but considering Castore are only just entering the market, it’s unlikely they will have the spending power of other, more established brands.
It’s perhaps more likely that the club has negotiated a substantial percentage of sales or that bonus clauses have been included in the contract.
