Rangers defender Borna Barisic provided an assist as Croatia came from behind to beat Slovakia 3-1 and reach Euro 2020.

The World Cup finalists will be hoping to leave an impression on next year’s competition, which will see teams travel across all of Europe’s top stadia in a unique Europe wide competition.

The Croatian bombed down the left for the Balkan nation’s third, knocking the ball around the hapless Slovakian right back and putting it in for Ivan Perisic to finish.

Barisic’s assist for Croatia comes at the time when the left-back’s stock continues to rise in Scotland and in Europe.

With his future at Rangers seemingly hanging by a thread after a troubled first season dominated by injuries and a distinct lack of confidence, Barisic has cemented himself as a first choice in Glasgow.

The talented wing-back’s engine, solid defensive positioning and wand of a left foot has meant he’s started the last 13 games for Steven Gerrard.

Rangers fans paid tribute as the wing-back took his club form to international level with the nation ranked 7th in world football.

It’s been a very successful week for the Rangers internationals currently out performing for their country on national duty.

Glen Kamara of Finland and Filip Helander of Sweden both saw their countries make the final cut for the tournament, whilst Alfredo Morelos got his first goal for Colombia.
