Behind closed doors, you can guarantee that almost every member of the Rangers squad will have their own idea about where the Scottish Premiership giants should go from here.
Nicolas Raskin may be keen to see Rangers put their faith in Philippe Clement, a three-time Jupiler League champion the midfielder knows well from his time in Belgium. Sam Lammers may be hoping for a reunion with his former PSV Eindhoven youth coach Pascal Jansen.
Unfortunately for Scott Wright, however, the prospect of Ryan Lowe taking over at Ibrox has long since been ruled out, the well-connected Heart and Hand podcast insisting that the Preston North End boss is not a target.

Preston’s Ryan Lowe will not get the Rangers job
Lowe is a big fan of Wright.
His Preston side made two bids for the winger over the summer, per Lancs Live, and it’s been a while since the former Aberdeen ace found himself working under a coach who truly trusts in his talents.
Wright may have featured with a little more regularity towards the end of the Beale era but, for the most part, he was still something of an afterthought. Beale even admitted that Rangers had accepted an offer from Turkish outfit Pendikspor before negotiations collapsed.
“I was aware of (the Rangers links),” Lowe said, via The Herald, before being ruled out of contention a week or so ago.
“I think, when your team is doing well and you’re doing well, you’re obviously going to get linked. But, I am the Preston North End manager and it’s a privilege to manage this football club.
“Whether it is true or it’s not true, I don’t know. But, as far as I’m concerned, this football club and the fans have stuck by me.
“I think I will probably be one of 20 or 30 people to be linked with a fantastic opportunity to manage someone like Rangers Football Club.
“But, my sole importance is Preston North End.”
Rangers’ manager search goes on
Ryan Lowe may have been the coach Scott Wright was crying out for as the benchwarming winger looks to kick-start his Rangers career. One suspects Wright will now be hoping that Philippe Clement and Kevin Muscat see in him what the Preston boss did.
