Rangers manager Mick Beale has admitted that the Ibrox outfit ‘accepted a bid’ for Scott Wright with a move to Turkish Super Lig side Pendikspor seemingly in the balance.
The sight of the former Aberdeen winger in first-team training ahead of Rangers’ 3-1 pre-season friendly defeat the hands of Olympiakos on Wednesday night certainly raised eyebrows.
Scott Wright, after all, was supposed to have been on his way out the door; Pendikspor agreeing a £500,000 fee a week earlier (Scottish Sun).
So, the question on everybody’s lips; Is Wright’s departure still on the cards? And, should that move to Pendikspor fall through, is there still a place for him in Beale’s plans?

Scott Wright could leave Rangers for Turkey
“There have been enquiries about three or four players,” Beale told Rangers Review after that Olympiakos defeat.
“Scott went out to Turkey last week as everyone knows. I think he was caught at the airport! You can’t go anywhere these days without the cameras, and he was caught.
“We accepted the bid. He went over to meet the team and meet the coach, and negotiations are on in the background. There is no point in risking Scott in these (friendly) fixtures while that is up in the air.”
Wright started only five Scottish Premiership games in 2022/23. Game time should be even harder to come by next term, after Beale brought in further reinforcements in the attacking midfield and forward positions; Abdallah Sima and Kieran Dowell expected to be joined at Ibrox by LAFC ace Jose Cifuentes.
But while discussions are still very much ongoing, as Beale himself indicated, Wright now appears to be weighing up the pros and cons of a switch that would take him over 2,000 miles east.
‘The clubs have agreed a fee’
“(A move to Turkey) gives me a chance to go and play a bit more regular football,” Wright said recently.
“I’ve had conversations with Michael Beale, and I just want to try and play a bit more. We came to the conclusion that it’s maybe better for me to try and move on. The clubs have agreed a fee and I’ll go out and have a look and see what I think.
“You’ve got to test yourself. It’s an opportunity that excites me, and one I’m looking forward to looking into. There’s plenty options I have to weigh up.
“And it’s a decision I’ll have to make with my family and wife.”
Wright appears to have seen a move to Preston North End collapse already this window.
