Rangers are calling for 80s classic turned club anthem Live It Up by Mental as Anything to reach Christmas number one as the club stretches their lead in the Scottish Premiership.
Steven Gerrard’s side are now 13 points clear in the Scottish top tier – albeit nearest rivals Celtic have two games in hand – as they look to secure a legendary 55th title.
As things come together on the pitch at Ibrox they have simultaneously collapsed across the city as Rangers’ 25-game unbeaten streak coincides with two wins in 12 at Parkhead.
Rangers fans adopted 1985 classic Live It Up as an “unofficial anthem” this season after Rangers fans group the Union Bears used it as the soundtrack to a video goading rivals Celtic after the last Old Firm.
Celtic fans had taken to the streets of Glasgow to paste famous Old Firm goals around the city before they were beaten 2-0 thanks to a Connor Goldson double.
The Rangers Ultras would then paste an image of Connor Goldson celebrating over the Celtic pictures and since then the song hasn’t stopped playing.
Now, the club’s supporters are encouraging each other to purchase or stream the song in time for Christmas in order to add insult to injury:

With another two weeks to go, Rangers fans will need to keep up listening to and downloading the song to ensure it’s still in the running come Christmas Day – the day this year’s Top 40 will be announced.
With Rangers 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, that shouldn’t be too hard given the good spirits the Ibrox supporters are in.
