Rangers fans have been reacting to James Tavernier’s tweet as the Ibrox captain appears to throw his weight behind Alfredo Morelos, quite literally.

The Gers skipper took to Twitter after Alfredo Morelos was controversially sent off for celebrating the second goal in the 2-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park.

The Colombian striker saw red and was sent packing but given the wee man’s form James Tavernier sent a message of support on social media.

Morelos got his 27th goal of an incredible season and whilst the second yellow card may have been justifiable by the letter of the law, it was incredibly harsh from Don Robertson.

Fellow players in the league regularly get away with the same thing and all the club’s supporters want is consistency.

There’s a real feeling that Alfredo is treated more harshly than other players in the league and it is Rangers who suffer with Morelos unavailable for a difficult trip to Easter Road to face Hibs on Friday.

The show of solidarity from James Tavernier had some of the Ibrox support buzzing online.
