There was a time when Kris Boyd risked the ire of Rangers fans with his not-so-staunch and outspoken comments in the media.
The former Ibrox striker was much maligned by supporters for a perceived lack of support for the Teddy Bears during times of struggle.
From criticising Borna Barisic [Scottish Sun] to claiming Rangers should’ve offered Celtic a guard of honour [Herald] the Ibrox legions were less than happy with the striker’s public commentary.

But in the last few weeks, and in the aftermath of the 2-1 win against Celtic at Parkhead, Rangers fans are wondering if the Ibrox goal scorer has been on the “staunch pills”.
Boyd leapt to the defence of Alfredo Morelos for criticism in the first half of the 2-0 win over Motherwell in December.
And he was on fine form once again as he described Rangers thumping win over Celtic as “men against boys”.
He also took the adulation of supporters for a rendition of El Bufalo Soldier on Sky Sports, much to the clear dismay of former Celtic striker Andy Walker.

It’s superb stuff from the big striker and if anyone knows about scoring goals for Rangers, it’s Krissy Boyd.
The former poacher found the net 115 times for Rangers in 212 games at the Glasgow club over two spells.
Celtic have also felt the ire of Boyd’s staunch rampage after he laid into the Parkhead club for ‘paying Scott Sinclair £40k per week to sit on the beach in Dubai’ [Scottish Sun].
His defiant upturn in form behind the mic hasn’t gone unnoticed from the Rangers faithful:
