Rangers will face competition from Turkish giants Fenerbahçe for the signature of Croatian international striker Mirko Maric.
The report claims Fenerbahçe have been watching the NK Osijek forward for quite some time.
It also says that any decision on the player’s future will be made at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old target man has enjoyed a superb season in front of goal for Osijek. He has 18 goals and seven assists in 41 games across all competitions this season.
Rangers are on the hunt for new striking talent with continued transfer talk surrounding Alfredo Morelos and a move away. Teams from Spain [Football Scotland] and France [Foot Mercato] have been linked with the Colombian recently.
But even if Morelos stays, Rangers remain likely to be on the hunt for another striker.
With the likes of Kyle Lafferty really struggling at the club this season, Mirko Maric could be a quality replacement.
Similar to the Northern Ireland hero, despite being a lanky striker, Maric tries to play the game with the ball at his feet.
But it looks like Rangers will now face competition from the likes of Fenerbahçe to secure the player’s signature.
