Stunned Richard Foster says the Queen Elizabeth 2 could have been drive through Rangers’ defensive line against Hibs on Saturday.
Rangers were embarrassing as Hibs eased to a 2-0 victory which inflicted a fifth straight loss at Ibrox, something that had never happened previously.
It was also the first time since 1894 that Rangers had conceded at least two goals in each of their last six league games, a shocking statistic.

Jack Butland was at fault for Dylan Levitt’s opening strike, before Rangers defensively were caught napping for Martin Boyle’s VAR awarded effort.
John Souttar and Dujon Sterling were carved apart by one straight kick up the park, allowing Boyle the freedom of Glasgow to bear down on goal and dispatch his finish.

Richard Foster on ‘incredible’ Rangers defending vs Hibs
Foster branded the build-up to that goal as ‘incredible’ and says a cruise liner could have easily sailed through the gaping defensive hole.
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, the former Rangers full-back said: “Home to Hibs, they’ve been on a great run, but you still expect Rangers to put on a performance at home. It looked like they just allowed Hibs to play.
“Lacklustre going forward and defensively. To be fair to (Jordan) Obita, he kind of mishits the pass. But you could have driven the QE2 through the defence, it was incredible the space.
“You can’t give Martin Boyle all that time and space because he’s going to through and finish like he did. I just thought at home, they were really, really poor and you could hear the rage in Barry’s voice.”
Foster agrees with Barry Ferguson’s Rangers assessment
Foster also touched upon Rangers’ disastrous record against teams who they are expected to beat, particularly at Ibrox, compared to their form over the likes of Celtic and European opponents.
Rangers have lost their last five at Ibrox to teams they should be winning against, particularly in the Scottish Cup when they lost to Queen’s Park.
But the Ibrox side have beaten Celtic twice since December and have progressed to the Europa League quarter-finals where they will play Athletic Club, the first leg this Thursday in Govan.
Foster said: “It must drive him (Barry Ferguson) crazy because of the games where they go through in Europe, the away leg against Fenerbahce, the home game against Celtic, they get themselves to that level.
“But where I do agree with him (Ferguson) wholeheartedly is it’s easy as a player to get yourself up for those games, the glamour ties in Europe, in the Old Firm games.
“Yeah, you can still lose those games, but most of the time, you’ll get a level of performance or you’ll get players working hard and doing the extra little bit for each other (in the big games) – they don’t have that in the other games.”
