Rangers put in another shocking Ibrox performance as Hibs won in Govan for the first time in seven years.
The Ibrox side started in the worst possible fashion as Dylan Levitt’s sweetly struck strike from distance squirmed underneath Jack Butland and into the net.
Rangers dominated the first-half with Cyriel Dessers coming close on two occasions, his first effort saved and his second blazed over the bar when he should have hit the target.
But Hibs were disciplined and organised at the back as Rangers struggled to spark any sort of creativity throughout the encounter to trouble the visitors.
It was much of the same for the second-half before Rangers’ misery was compounded when they were carved open by one upfield pass.
Obita slammed a low ball forward to play Martin Boyle through on goal and the winger slotted past Butland with confidence. There was a lengthy VAR offside check but Boyle was adjudged to be in his own half and the goal was awarded.
Another shocking display from Rangers who have now lost at Ibrox for the fifth consecutive game – that has never happened before in the club’s entire history.

Rangers player ratings vs Hibs

Jack Butland – 3
Completely at fault for the opening goal of the game. Dylan Levitt’s strike was sweetly hit but the former England stopper simply had to save it. Looked really nervous throughout.
James Tavernier – 5
Almost given a free role in possession as the Englishman popped up on the right wing, central midfield and on the left at times. His crossing usually spot on but disappointing today.
Dujon Sterling – 6
Used his strength very well on and off the ball. Reliable option at centre-back for Ferguson but let down by the rest of his teammates today.
John Souttar – 4
Had very little defending to do against a Hibs side who largely sat in and hit on the counter attack. Caught sleeping for Hibs’ second goal as Boyle raced through on goal from the halfway line.
Jefte – 5
Wasn’t getting forward enough when he had the opportunities to do so. Better in second-half but underwhelming.
Connor Barron – 4
Largely ineffective in midfield this afternoon. Does he really have the quality to last as a Rangers player?
Nicolas Raskin – 5
Relentless as usual as he played as the sole No.6 with Barron and Diomande further forward. More advanced in the second-half.
Mohamed Diomande – 4
Got bullied off the ball at times as Hibs adopted a physical approach at Ibrox. Poor day for the Ivorian who was taken off after 75 minutes – lucky to last that long.
Vaclav Cerny – 6
Was the only real danger man for Rangers in the first-half. Gave Hibs full-back Jordan Obita plenty of defending to do with his direct running and dribbling ability. Subbed after 58 minutes with an eye surely on the Athletic Club clash.
Hamza Igamane – 4
Interestingly deployed on the left wing and while he had some decent moments, the Moroccan is out of position and not as effective when more central.
Cyriel Dessers – 3
Such a frustrating player. Movement is good but he spurns too many good chances when through on goal. Flings himself to the ground far too often as well.
Nedim Bajrami (sub) – 4
Looked busy when he came on and smacked an effort off the bar as he looked to get Rangers level before Hibs’ second strike.
Danilo (sub) – 3
Created a chance and saw a close-range shot well blocked by the Hibs defence.
Ianis Hagi (sub) – 2
Not enough time to impact the game.
Findlay Curtis (sub) – 2
Came on at the same time as Hagi.
