There are less than two weeks to go before the end of the transfer window and Philippe Clement will still be looking to bring new players to Rangers.
The manager has cut a frustrated figure in recent interviews and press conferences, knowing that he can’t improve his squad until others pack their bags at Ibrox.
More depth in the forward line and more home-grown players are also required after the Gers boss inherited problems all over the roster.
A player linked heavily with Rangers before sealing a £1.2m move to England is Kevin Nisbet, whose move to Milwall hasn’t quite gone according to plan with an exit looking even more likely.

Rangers should enquire about Kevin Nisbet’s availability
As the clock ticks towards deadline day, clubs will be looking to move on players to free up wages and Nils Koppen should be on his toes looking for potential bargains.
Steven Gerrard was a fan of Nisbet who was once the subject of debate about who was better between him and his Edinburgh city rival Lawrence Shankland.
Nisbet was always more mobile, but he didn’t quite have the same natural finishing ability even if he did cause Rangers problems on more than one occasion.
He knows the SPFL, is approaching his peak and will be keen to get back in form and in the Scotland squad.
One of the reasons he missed out on the European Championships was a dip in goal scoring for Milwall, however, another was an incident behind the scenes that saw him disciplined by the Championship outfit.
Nisbet’s move to England hasn’t been a smooth ride
Speaking at the end of last season, Lions manager Neil Harris explained why Nisbet was missing from a squad that he was expected to be in.
“All I’m going to say is I’m building a culture and an environment at the football club. The standards are set by Neil Harris and Millwall Football Club. These are standards that I expect players to adhere to. Players will only be involved at my football club, when I’m in charge, if they hit those standards. It’s all about culture and environment.
“And secondly, with Kevin, it’s a disciplinary matter about culture and standards. There’s no bigger problem moving forward. Kevin is a huge part of our football club moving forward. But it wasn’t right to involve him today so I went with the group that I did.”
This doesn’t paint Nisbet in a great light, however, there are plenty of players who have worn the light blue of Rangers who haven’t been entirely squeaky clean.
Nisbet’s status at Milwall has diminished to the extent that he only played six minutes on the opening day and wasn’t in the squad at all on match day two.
The former Hibernian striker spoke before about taking time to settle in London and it may be that all he needs is a familiar scene to rediscover his best form.
If Rangers are wanting more depth whilst minimising risk and increasing the homegrown quota at the same time, entertaining a loan bid for Nisbet wouldn’t be a bad idea.
