Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has backed the full-backs at his beloved Liverpool as he shared images of Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold on his Instagram account.
The Reds legend was responding to the announcement of the FIFA World XI which placed Real Madrid duo Marcelo and Sergio Ramos as the side’s full-backs.
Gerrard clearly believes both players were done a poor turn with the final decision and they should’ve been included in the final XI.
Had Andy Robertson – who is a well-known Celtic fan – and the impressive young Alexander-Arnold been included in the side, Liverpool would’ve had four players in the final XI.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker and centre-back Virgil van Dijk made the World XI side after helping to guide Liverpool to a sixth Champions League/European Cup trophy last season.
The Anfield club has started this season how they left off the last one too. The Merseyside outfit leads the Premier League by five points after only six games.
Steven Gerrard is also being tipped to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield when the big German leaves the club – perhaps when his contract expires in 2022.
Those are the claims of none other than the German himself [Four Four Two] who believes that Gerrard is the perfect replacement of his.
A team of Rangers legends are also set to play a Liverpool legends side during the next international break, with Gerrard captaining the Liverpool side for the match [Rangers].
