Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will lead a team of Liverpool legends out at Ibrox as a team of Anfield legends take on their Rangers counterparts.

A variety of heroes from both Rangers and Liverpool’s past will descend on Ibrox during the international break on Saturday, October 12th as Rangers play host to this unique glamour friendly.

The Rangers side will be managed by former manager Alex McLeish and captained by 9 in a row legend Richard Gough with the club promising more names to be announced in the coming weeks.

“It will be a pleasure to pull on my boots once again and run out at Ibrox,” said Gough, as quoted by Rangers.co.uk.

“I’m expecting this to be a really competitive game and it will be an exciting match for fans of both Rangers and Liverpool to enjoy.

“I know that the Gers fans will come out in their numbers to see a well-contested game of football and some of the greatest players to have ever played the game.”

Unsurprisingly Gers fans are delighted at the prospect of seeing Steven Gerrard play at Ibrox – with many wanting the Gers boss to play a half in Royal Blue.

Tickets for the game are priced £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for children and will go on sale to season ticket holders Monday 23rd September.

General sale will begin on Monday the 30th of September.

Rangers will also be hosting a Legends Dinner at the Glynhill Hotel on Friday 11th October for £100+VAT per person, and you can find out more by calling 0141 580 8601 or emailing [email protected]. The proceeds of this will go the Rangers Charity Foundation and the LFC Foundation.

What a great event this match promises to be and it’ll also be the chance to see Steven Gerrard run out on the hallowed turf at Ibrox – even if it’s not in a Rangers kit.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t do what he did against AC Milan the last time he played in a team of Liverpool legends.
