Rangers boost as star hints at imminent training return after injury absence

In a big boost for Rangers, forward Kemar Roofe has hinted at an imminent return to training on Instagram following an injury absence.

Roofe has been a key player so far this season, his second at the club, scoring ten goals from 20 appearances across all competitions.

However, he’s missed a number of matches through suspension and injuries.

His latest issue saw him miss Rangers’ final four games before the winter break against Hearts, St Johnstone, Dundee United and St Mirren.

Thankfully for Gio van Bronckhorst, his absence wasn’t costly, with the Gers winning all four matches.

And it looks like the manager will soon have the 28-year-old back at his disposal.

Roofe drops Rangers training return hint after injury

Roofe stayed behind for extra gym sessions at Auchenhowie before embracing the winter break, but judging by his Instagram post on Tuesday, he’s ready to get back onto the pitch again.

“Winter break over and back to business/fun tomorrow at the office,” he wrote, followed by football and blue heart emojis.

The post went down well with supporters, racking up over 14k likes.

The likes of Ryan Jack and Leon Balogun may face a while longer on the sidelines, but the imminent return of the ex-Leeds United and Anderlecht star is a significant boost for Rangers.

He has almost two weeks to get himself as close to full fitness as possible before the Gers take on Aberdeen at Pittodrie on 18th January.

Gio’s men have a tough run of fixtures to start 2022 and it’s vital that they hit the ground running.

Meanwhile, Rangers have been dealt an apparent transfer blow after a reported target officially signed elsewhere.
