In an apparent transfer blow for Rangers, reported midfield target Joey Veerman has completed a move from Heerenveen to PSV Eindhoven.
Veerman was extensively linked with a £7m move to Rangers in the summer [Glasgow Times] and many Bears urged the club to do everything possible to snap him up.

However, the Gers’ failure to qualify for the Champions League proper damaged their chances of signing the talented 23-year-old and now, he’s officially moved elsewhere.
On Tuesday evening, Dutch giants PSV confirmed the signing of Veerman on a four-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The negotiations progressed quickly, with initial contact between the parties only made over the weekend.
However, PSV made it clear that they have been monitoring the player for longer.
“Joey is a multifunctional midfielder who adds creativity to PSV,” said the club’s Director of Football Affairs John de Jong [PSV]. “We have been keeping a close eye on Joey for some time and are convinced that he has not reached his ceiling yet.”
“I am very happy with this step and the speed with which PSV has acted,” added Veerman. “Last Saturday my agent told me that John de Jong had made inquiries with him and a day later I already spoke to Roger Schmidt.”
“I am looking forward to playing football at this wonderful club – the number one in the Eredivisie.
“You have to perform here every week. I was looking for that challenge.”

Plenty of Rangers fans will be gutted with this development.
After all, Veerman was linked with the Gers for some time and is a high-class player, scoring four goals and notching seven assists already this season, despite making it clear in the summer that he wanted to leave Heerenveen.
It would be no surprise if he is a big hit at PSV and then secures a move to an even bigger club in a few years time.
Meanwhile, a current Rangers star has been rated as the best player in the Premiership so far this season.
